David David Glass Hill Pop Up Shop 3

DAVID DAVID
Covent Garden
Pop-up Shop

The second collaboration of Glass Hill and David David is a temporary shop at 37 Monmouth Street London WC2. The space is showing the new David David collection as well as pieces from the brands archive. The interior scheme and furniture lifts elements from some of David David's signature prints, as well as developing on the brand's themes of geometry, colour shifts and scanlines.

The former dry cleaners carried the typical period combinations of chimney breasts, skewed footprint and plenty of dead space. The scheme uses ceiling to floor Venetian blinds to temporarily wall off the ins and outs of the building with the minimum of fuss. They create a clean rectangle of shop floor, but also a concealed changing area, stock store and a ready made hanging system. Plain tables and chairs of pre-laminated mdf add to the bright white scheme, allowing the various seasons of David David prints to colour the space.

London, Sept 2011.
